Since 2010, Canadian Bullmastiffs has specialized in breeding quality Bullmastiffs, ensuring they thrive as family companions and protectors. Our dedication to continuous learning and improvement has resulted in numerous satisfied families united with lovable, champion-bloodline puppies ready for adoption.

We Love Our Bullies

At Canadian Bullmastiffs, breeding pure-breds is not a hobby or a side-job. We observed the Bullies as an ailing breed, subject to more cancer and dysplasia than is acceptable. We decided to do something about that.

We are a registered breeder with the Canadian Kennel Club (and American Kennel Club). It took 3 years to build our kennel and raise our dogs to maturity. We chose our initial stock from Champion Bloodlines with no history of health issues.

We have imported 2 new bloodlines from the UK and are currently looking at lines from elsewhere in the world.

We continue to learn more about this mysterious breed and become more familiar with its characteristics. It is a joy to place healthy pups into happy homes and at the same time, preserve the Bullmastiff Breed.

Some Things To Consider

The bullmastiff is a large breed dog with great loyalty and is very affectionate. The breed is very courageous and intelligent like no other dog I’ve encountered. It has a large head with its black mask and ears. Its short neck and stocky build makes the bullmastiff look very much like a mean bully. The bully is not a rare breed by any means but you won’t see one on every street corner.

The bullmastiff thrives in a family unit on love and being one of the family members. You would be hard pressed to find a dog as loyal as your bully. The bullmastiff loves children and senses their innocence. They will endure abuse from a child that they would never tolerate from adults. They also sense the elderly and disabled. Don’t ask me how but they do.

The Bullmastiff takes its role as a family protector very seriously! The bullmastiff will gladly accept your friends, a stranger will be scrutinized, and any illegal intruder will have a whole lot of big dog to worry about.

How big do Bullmastiffs get?

Adults will range from 24-27 in (61-69 cm) at the withers and weigh from 100-130 lb (45-58.5 kg).

How long until they are full grown?

Your puppy is going to grow rapidly. In about 12 months he/she will be approaching full size. Do not, however, mistake this for maturity. Despite their size, your Bullmastiff is still a puppy until at least 24 months. Bones and structure are still developing. Avoid rough play and especially jumping to or from high places.

What colors can they be?

When the breed was primarily a protector of game grounds, the dark brindle colour was a favorite because of the camouflage effect. Today the most popular are the light fawn, the dark red, and every shade between. The black mask is a universal signature trait, regardless of colour.
